The Parish Giving Scheme for Aldbrough, Mappleton, and Goxhill
For those of us who give regularly by standing order, or want to start doing so, we now have the Parish Giving Scheme. Please cancel any existing standing order with your bank once you have set this up, as we are keeping the old bank accounts open for a while. If anyone ends up paying under both methods in the early stages, we’ll pay you back. We know things don’t always coordinate the way they should. To set up the Parish giving scheme, you need our Parish code, which is 430643292 (and your bank details, obviously) and either:
- ring them on 0333 002 1271, Monday to Friday between 9am – 5pm.
- go to https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/ and click on one of the find your parish options, and enter the code, and follow the instructions from there.
Easyfundraising
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Aldbrough and Mappleton JPCC with easyfundraising?
There are over 6,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds. A couple of clicks from you is all it takes to make it work, and it would be good if as many of us as possible could set this up. We need you to:
1. Go to https://tinyurl.com/54y7a9nc and set up an account.
2. Click on “donation reminder” to add an extension to your browser. You can also download an app for iPhone (but not android phones yet). You get links to these in your welcome email.
After you have done that, each time you go to a participating website, a little box will pop up in the top right hand corner of the screen to let you know a donation is available. Click on that, and then just get on with your shopping. If you search for a product, participating retailers on the list will have a button showing the donation they will make. If you click on that button, it goes to the website you have chosen and activates the donation at the same time.
You can see who is participating in various categories by looking on your easyfundraising account. Visiting your account will also let you know how much your shopping has raised for the churches.
Nobody sees what you buy, or gets any personal information. Apart from one click each time to claim the donation, your online shopping is just the same as usual, including the same prices. Many retailers donate one or two percent of what you spend, but it can vary, and some donate much more. And for everyone who signs up with the link above and raises £5 in the first 12 months, we will receive an extra £5.
